Tardy policy

Before I start talking on the subject here is the actually policy..

3 Tardies*- Lunchtime detention for 3 days.

6 Tardies*- Lunchtime detention for 6 days, letter/call home

9 Tardies*- Lunchtime detention for remainder of quarter exclusion from all school clubs and activities meeting with student/parent/principal.

More than 9*- Lunchtimes and/or after school detention Exclusion from all school clubs and activities and a possible referral to school Attendance Review Board.

now just by looking at that, you can already see how ridiculous it is. Now that's per quarter. Your tardies are reset every quarter. Now what about the people that commute over here, that cant get here on time? Or the ones coming from P.E. that need time to change/shower. Yes, our P.E. teacher lets us early so we can get sometime to change, but that isn't always enough. Then we get marked tardy. You only need three tardies then you must spend your lunch in a class room... sitting dead silent. You can get that in one day. Three tardies is way to little. Yes, you want people to get to class on time but only 3 tardies and then a detention? A little much?
